How to make an Espresso Americano

How to make a Espresso Americano??? Lungo in Italian means ‘long’. Espresso Americano is a long Espresso Lungo. Confused? Well, the Italians seem to think that most American Espresso is more diluted than the diluted Italian Espresso, the Lungo. So, Espresso Americano was born as a new version of Espresso.

Steps for making an Espresso Americano:

  1. Get hold of some dark roasted espresso beans. Oily-looking is the choice bean here. Use the darkest of the espresso coffee beans. Traditional Italian Style!
  2. You want to grind these espresso beans until they are very fine.
  3. Pack the grinds into the group (handle) of the espresso machine.
  4. Place your cup/s under the group. Turned on your espresso machine. You should see a hazel brown crema appear at the surface of the coffee when its finished.
  5. Now add an extra 3 or 4 ounces (90ml or 120ml) of hot water to the espresso.

Now all you have to do is enjoy your Espresso Americano!!!
